As someone who loves to make and break things, I've always enjoyed talking to other creative people: to explore new ideas, to dissect their rituals and processes, to learn about what makes them tick. What is it that makes people spend their lives doing what they do?
For a while now, I've wanted to start a website featuring interviews with creative people in India, but between running an online magazine and juggling client projects, it hasn't been easy to make time for it. For the past month or so, I have been hard at work on this website — I've stolen moments from other projects and abandoned any attempts at maintaining a regular sleep schedule — and I'm very relieved (and excited) that it is finally up and running.
So: Astray (coming up with a name is always the hardest part, isn't it?) is a new website for the creative community in India, featuring news, interviews, and more. To kick things off, we have interviews with the lovely and ridiculously talented Mira Malhotra and Janine Shroff, who graciously agreed to be the first two Astray interviewees. I hope you enjoy reading about their personal journeys so far.
New interviews will be published on Astray thrice a month. To be notified about new content on Astray, please follow us on Twitter (@astrayindia), Instagram, and Facebook. Alternatively, you could scroll down to subscribe to our email newsletter.
If you'd like to suggest any interview subjects, or if you'd just like to say hello, please email me at info@astray.in.
Was it good for you?
